What Is A Skin Tint?
Skin tints offer light to medium coverage on your skin. I love it because it’s a time saver that is incredibly easy to use. They also provide fairly buildable coverage. Did I mention it also feels like nothing is on your face! Personally, it’s just what I need, and I love it!
How Do I Use Skin Tint?
- Prep your skin: This means doing your skincare, applying primer, doing any additional prep you normally do, etc.
- Hydration: You’re going to need a hydrayted base in order for it to work well. What I do is spray rose water on my skin around 3 minutes before starting!
- Apply the skin tint: I’ve found that around 4 dots is all I need to cover my face but feel free to apply however much you’d like.
- Blending: The lady at the store advised to use a sponge to blend it out. I feel like it’s a lot easier to work with this way. I’ve tried it out with a makeup brush but a sponge is more effective. Blend it in with a sponge as you normally would, evenly and gently across your face making sure to take your time. (4 dots only takes me around 2-3 minutes to fully blend out)
- Continue with your makeup routine!

Can I mix my skin tint with foundation?
I actually do this and I like it a lot! Let’s say you wanna use skin tint but want more coverage to add some foundation. It looks good, and is a great hack for a little more coverage!
Which skin tint is the best?
The one I picked up from Ulta is by Bare Minerals and it’s also an SPF 30 sunscreen at the same time! This product has a variety of shades but I’d recommend going in-person to a store to shade match. Bare Minerals is also a cruelty-free makeup brand.
Do I need to use primer with skin tint?
You don’t have to use a primer with skin tint because it’s so weightless it doesn’t really require it! I don’t use a primer with skin tint, but it’s up to you.
