What is bronzer?
Great question! Let’s start with the basics of what bronzer is. Bronzer is a product that gives your face warmth and radiance to your face! Bronzer can come in matte and shimmery finishes and is a makeup product applied to the face.
Bronzer comes in both liquid, powder, and cream forms but it’s most commonly used in a powder form! Overall it can be very easy to use when using the right technique which is what you’ll learn here! Bronzer always comes before highlighter too, to learn more about highlighter click here!
Which Bronzer Is Best For Me?
Sadly, all brands don’t cater to certain skin tones which is why it can make finding a good bronzer hard. I’d recommend FENTY beauty for all skin tones, as there’s quite a range, especially for darker skin tones!
On the more affordable side, I’d recommend using Physicians Formula, they are cheap and work soo well. Both pigmented and a little goes such a long way! Some other brands that are cheap but good, are elf cosmetics, loreal, and NYX.
What Brush Do I Use For Bronzer?
Using a fluffy brush that’s slanted is always the best idea. Here is the one I like to use, it’s the Wet N Wild Contouring Brush! In my opinion, Wet N Wild definitely has some of the best quality brushes ever all while being cheap. This brush is soo easy to use and blending only takes a few minutes!

How Do I Use Bronzer?
Great question! You know what bronzer is and which is best for you, so how do you use it? Here’s how, follow the steps below!! The video guide is also below written instructions.
- Grab your brush and put a bit of bronzer onto the brush. A big hack I have is to be in good lighting when you do this. Seems so simple, but it’s honestly the biggest factor in making sure you apply it correctly!
- If the bronzer is new: You can apply it to the back of your hand first to see the amount of pigment that is given. Then you can apply it to your face!
- Start by applying on your forehead, and move the brush in a streaky motion across the outer part of the forehead.
- Apply some on your temples, making sure to avoid any other area than that. This results in a lifting effect!
- Now is time for your cheeks! Sweep the brush right below your cheekbone! If you can’t find your cheekbone apply right below you normally apply blush. Once done with one side, move to the other!
- Apply a bit on your nose, and you’re done!

Is it better to use bronzer or blush?
They both do different things! It’s up to you to choose which one you’d like, but here’s a basic rundown. As you learned in this blog post, bronzer is used to create warmth to the face. Yes! If you choose the correct shade for your skin tone, bronzing will work without having to tan.
