What is an eyeshadow stick?
Great question! What exactly is an eyeshadow stick? An eyeshadow stick is a form of eyeshadow, in a cream form. It’s perfect for those with dry skin, and those who want to use eyeshadow without the hassle of fallout and creasing!
Which one do you recommend?
Personally, I’ve been a huge fan of elf’s eyeshadow sticks recently! They are SO easy to use and last really long. + They’re cheap, which is perfect for those looking for high-quality makeup, on a budget! Also, it includes a super cute pencil sharpener at the bottom to use for whenever the pen becomes dull.
Jouer Cosmetics eyeshadow stick is SUPER good too. I go back and forth between this and the elf one, because they’re both such high quality! Literally, this one does not budge, you’ll definitely be surprised! (Use code BEGINNERSGUIDETOMAKEUP to save some money too!)
How do I use it?
Honestly, there is not much guidance that you need on this one!
- You can apply this at ideally any time of your routine, there is no fallout so it’s nice being able to have flexibility.
- Open your eyeshadow stick, and swipe over the area on your eyelid you want eyeshadow. Normally 2 layers are enough for me, and it lasts all day!
- Curl your lashes and apply mascara/falsies!
- Boom! You’re done, and that only took like a minute, super easy and practical for people on the go!
Here is a video I made though, that walks you through it: (I’m using the Jouer Cosmetics one in this.)
Ways to elevate your look!
If you want to add a little pop you have two options.
1. NYX Jumbo Stick: Add some to your inner corners, the shimmery white one would look super pretty with a golden lid. This is going to give you a more natural effect. Blog post here on how to use it!
2. You could also go the completely opposite direction and apply some Kajal to your waterline! Kajal is a black eye pencil, and once you apply it you’ll find that you have a striking and bold appearance. Personally, I wear Kajal every day cause of how good it makes me look! (In the video below I’m wearing it, so you’ll get an idea of what it looks like!)
