Hi Everyone! Since the year is almost to an end I thought I’d write a blog post ALL about my favorite makeup products from this year. Let’s get into it!
Base
I have been SO impressed with the Bare Minerals Skin Tint! Super good, definitely my fav form of coverage this year. I was super impressed with how this performed over the summer too, it did not end up looking greasy as the day went on.
Also, a dot goes such a long way! Covers my entire face.
Concealer
This year, I fell in love with the Elf Cosmetics Hydrayting Concealer! I have dry skin, and I have been very impressed with the quality for the price. Works so well, doesn’t crease, doesn’t clump up, etc.
There was a heat wave a few months ago, and I wore this concealer during that and it stayed on my skin ALL day! No joke, this stuff is amazing. If you want to learn more check out my in-depth review.
Blushes
This has been an AMAZING year for me finding new blushes! ’m going to divide it into blush types to make it easier for you!
Powder blushes
First up, powder blushes! I actually found some great, cheap finds that I will definitely continue to use into 2023.
Revolution Laced Blush Palette
I saw this at Ulta, and decided to get it! This is a stunning palette, and I love it because it can really cater to any skin tone. The palette contains four shades, that are very different from each other.
I was a little sad when I discovered this, but it comes with glitter on the top of the blush when you first purchase it. But this is only on the top part of the blush, not the whole thing. Otherwise, though, it’s a great blush!
This was another favorite of mine, the Milani Baking Blush! If you’re a longtime reader, you know that I actually don’t like the look of lots of highlighter on my face, and this product kind of solves that for me. This blush actually contains a highlighter in it, so it distributes a super nice, even glow.
Cream Blushes
Jouer Cosmetics Blush and Bloom Cheek and Lip Tint
I absolutely LOVE this brand’s cream blushes, stunning! Long lasting, pigmented, looks incredibly natural, etc. The shade I got was the Blush and Bloom Cheek and Lip Tint, in the shade celebrate me! Looks super pretty!
This has been my go-to ALL day and EVERY Day! It’s essential for me!
I finally got the cream blush after seeing all the hype, and IT’S SO worth it! Definitely not underrated. I was shocked the first time I used this because I didn’t think it would be THAT pigmented but it really was.
I got the shade, Nearly Berry because I didn’t want to purchase the same old pink and I was pleasantly surprised. I’d say it’s an in-between of purple and cherry red and looks super pretty on my tan skin.
Also, lasts LONG! I like to mix this with the one above too.
Gel Blush
I was a bit skeptical about but it has turned into another one of my favs! It’s a gel blush, and by the brand Pixi by Petra. If you’re a beauty lover, following the trends then you’ve certainly heard about the blush stick that went viral from this brand.
I went to Target, originally to purchase the blush stick but there were none left. I didn’t want to leave empty-handed and this caught my eye so I got it!
This is SUCH an underrated product, I was shocked when I posted it and no one really knew about it! I love it though, works super well as a lip tint.
Highlighters
I’m not a fan of highlighters, but the one that truly caught my eye was the Covergirl cooling glow stick! This is a super unique product because it’s a cream highlighter. It smells SO good and has a pleasant cooling effect once applied.
I would say this is the only highlighter I really used this year. If you’re looking for a good powder highlighter, the Wet n wild Highlighter is super good! I loved those ones too. I love the pigment of them, they last long, and look super pretty in the sun too.
Mascaras
Another great year of mascaras for me! Here are my favorites, the top three I used the most this year.
This one took me by surprise! Looks SO good, and it’s super underrated. Elf has become a super popular brand this past year from all of the new products they’ve created so I was surprised to notice this never went viral!
Gives me an amazing amount of length and volume, super good!
I was gifted this by the brand, but needless to say, it’s one of my favorites! It reminds me of the sky-high but gives me way more volume AND length.
Item beauty mascara primer w/ blue mascara
I was at Sephora with one of my friends a few months ago, and this one took me by surprise! If you didn’t know, Item Beauty is by Addison Rae and I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
Instead of wearing all-black mascara, I LOVE mixing this with the other two mascaras above, it looks super good!
Lipglosses
Lipglosses! I have some great finds from this year, here they are!
Milani lipglosses are SO underrated, I am so shocked it hasn’t gone viral! Super shimmery, pigmented, long-lasting, etc.
Another one of my most used products of the year! This gloss has a kind of weird smell, but if you can look past that it’s great.
I LOVE the shimmery finish this gives my lips, it pairs nicely with lip liner! I love the look of it.
Lipliners
Ok, so this one is super good and incredibly pigmented! I’ve found this is one of the most long-lasting lip-liners I’ve EVER had. The only con I’d say is that it’s super creamy and tends to break, other than that it’s great!
This is an OG Lip Liner for me! I’ve found this has a super great consistency and is super pigmented. Lasts long and it’s SO pretty.
Eyeshadow Sticks
This year has been the year of eyeshadow sticks for me, I don’t use powder eyeshadows anymore! To learn more about eyeshadow sticks and why I love them so much click here!
This was what started my obsession! This is by the brand Jouer Cosmetics and it’s their eyeshadow crayon in shade Serene, it’s a super pretty rose gold.
This lasts SO long, has no fallout, and looks amazing all day!
When looking for a cheaper option, I came across this one and fell in love with it! I’d say this is a dupe for the one above.
I LOVE how long this lasts too, it’s impressive considering it’s a cream makeup product.
Powders
I found myself really getting into powders this year, and they’re actually amazing!
This is an amazing powder! I love it so much, brightens my whole face. At school, I literally had people coming up to me asking how I was looking so bright!

This is AMAZING for applying around the face! I tend to only apply the ELF HD powder under my eyes. I use this to powder the rest of my face, and it works wonderfully at preventing oil throughout the day! Definitely worth the hype.
