ALL over the internet, I’ve been seeing everybody applying powder blush and then cream blush! Supposedly doing this will make it last longer and require fewer touchups. I have to touch up my blush every few hours and will be thrilled if this works. Today, I’m going to put this to the test and see if it’s really worth the hype!
Follow these Steps
- Have the following done: I always apply blush after my base, concealer, and bronzer. Personally find this looks the best.
- Grab your favorite powder blush and apply it as you normally would.
- After, layer your cream blush on top. I found that stippling is the best way to do this.

Did It Last?!
To my surprise, it worked! I was shocked. Normally I have to keep retouching my blush, but it lasted. I’d recommend trying this out if you find that your blush doesn’t last.

Find that cream blush isn’t lasting, here are a few things to implement
- Primer will ensure that not only your blush will last longer, but all of your makeup. Primer will also help with giving you a smoother, even base to work with. Sticky primers are the way to go if you find makeup always slipping off your face.
- For best results use a blush brush: Using a damp beauty blender may result in the beauty blender soaking up the blush. You can also use your fingers to blend it out.
- The way you apply it matters! Make sure to apply in a stippling motion to ensure long-lasting blush.
- To increase longevity, spray some setting spray right before applying cream blush. This is an amazing hack that you’ll end up loving! Since your skin is hydrated right before applying the blush, it will also blend effortlessly and faster.
