Hi loves! I just got back from a tropical vacation in Hawaii, and today I’ll be sharing my everyday tropical vacation makeup routine! Let’s get started ❤️ All the products mentioned are suitable for use in the heat. This makeup did not melt off or patch up as the day went on!

Skin Prep
During my time in Hawaii, my skin became extremely dry. By day 4, I had to apply minimal makeup to prevent it from becoming patchy and awkward as the day progressed.
Given the heat, it’s essential to use products that look good in photos without weighing you down or feeling cakey.
To prepare my skin, I washed my face with a hydrating cleanser and followed up with a thicker moisturizer. It’s important to apply SPF before applying ANY makeup, please! I forgot to apply it and ended up burning my chest, which was horrible.

Makeup Look
Now that we have completed the skin prep, let’s move on to the makeup look!
- BASE: I highly recommend the Elf Halo Glow. It provides just the right amount of coverage. In hot weather, it’s better to apply a good moisturizer underneath it to help it blend and look better. Apply four swipes of the product along your forehead, both cheeks, and chin.
- BLUSH + HIGHLIGHTER- For the perfect flush of color, I mixed the Jouer Cosmetics Blush and Bloom Stick with Milani Cheek Bloom Kiss Blush. Apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks and swipe a little on your nose. HIGHLIGHTER: For a light highlighter, I found that a gold highlighter matches well with the eyeshadow environment. Only apply a small amount on the bridge of your nose and cupid’s bow.
- LASHES: When it comes to the heat, it’s important use a mascara that won’t melt off in the heat. The only mascara I used this entire trip was the Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara. It didn’t streak or come off as the day went on.
- LIPS: This lip combo routine is a favorite of mine! It stays glossy and then dries down into a stain. First, apply the Wet N Wild Lipstick in the shade Near Fuchsia. Blot a little bit of it onto your lips to give you some pigment. Then use the NYX Fat Lip Oil in a shade of your choice.
- LOCK IT IN WITH SETTING SPRAY: Now that you’ve finished the entire makeup look, it’s time to lock it in with some setting spray. Choosing the correct setting spray is crucial to maintaining the makeup look in the heat. I recommend the Elf Cosmetics Soft Matte Setting Spray, which is the one I used!
Thank you for reading through my tropical vacation makeup routine! I hope these tips and tricks help you beat the heat during your next island getaway. Remember to always prioritize skin prep and use products that work well in the heat. Don’t forget to wear SPF and lock in your makeup look with a good setting spray. Stay gorgeous, my loves! ❤️
