Hi loves! I hope you’re all having an amazing day. Welcome back to the Beginner’s Guide to Makeup. Today, I have a different post for you. I’ll be showing you how to look more presentable even (without) makeup! This is the opposite of what I usually write about on this blog, but I thought I’d share it because sometimes you want to take a break from makeup (and that’s okay!). We all need a day off, so here’s a guide to help you through it. I previously wrote a more general post about this, which applies to anyone. However, today I’ll be sharing my personal routine. Let’s get started!

Step One: Hair!
I just got a haircut a few days ago, and let me tell you, it makes ALL the difference. I’m even a little shocked by how much of an improvement it is.
Before, my hair was long, thick, dry, and had tons of split ends. But after chopping it off, it looks WAY better and is much easier to manage. Styling it only takes a few minutes.
Here are some tips to help you improve your hair game:
- Consider getting a haircut: It will definitely help speed up the process, especially when you’re in a rush.
- Style it! Hair is the one thing that can pull you together without makeup. It’s honestly impressive. Style it after washing it, and then when you wake up all you’ll have to do is spend a few minutes smoothing things out.
- I have both the Revlon and the Dyson Air Wrap. I’m being 100% honest when I say the Revlon is 10x better. Don’t purchase something extremely expensive! The Revlon is great for moving through your hair quickly, and the results last all day.
- Hair Mask: Implement a hair mask to smoothen and control frizz. You can make them at home or purchase them on Amazon!
Step Two: Skincare
Now, let’s move onto the face! It is essential to maintain a good skincare routine, especially when planning to go makeup-free. Their are no specific products, use what you usually use.
Here are the steps:
- Wash your face just to get your skin prepped and ready for the day.
- Apply moisturizer, next follow with this to keep your skin hydrated and happy.
- Apply SPF, for sun protection! Read complete guide here✨
Makeup (but not really)
That’s exactly what it is. I’m using a few tools to look more put together and it makes all the difference.
- Brush out your brows: Use your brow comb to shape them the way you want.
- Curl your lashes without mascara: Just curl them a little longer than usual so they hold.
- Apply lip liner: This is kind of like makeup, but it’s not on the face so it doesn’t count in my head lol. Line your lips, and I love using the Mac Lip Liner in the shade Redd. It’s so pretty! Afterward, go over it with the Buxom Lip Balm.
Perfume + Deodorant + Skincare
Now, one of the final steps is to smell good! It’s important to always smell good and tie the vibe together.
- Body Lotion: Apply some body lotion and mix it with body shimmer. This is a great trick to get a natural glow. Mix the two together and voila, you’re glowing. I do this every single day, rain or shine. It works, and my skin feels so soft!
- Perfume: Next, apply perfume. Recently, I’ve been into Middle Eastern perfumes and Ouds. Let me tell you, they DO the job. They’re amazing and in my opinion, beat every generic American perfume I’ve tried. Choose one that matches your vibe. Personally, I love both cologne and fresh scents.
- Deodorant: Next up, deodorant! This is crucial. I swear, all of the above goes out the window if you don’t wear deodorant. Use whatever you prefer.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you found this helpful. Have an amazing day and subscribe to keep up with the latest. I’ll see you in the next post! 💗💗
