Materials
You totally don’t have to use the products I use, feel free to use any of your makeup. I like to list what I use because my readers ask!
- Concealer: Elf Hydrayting Camo Concealer
- Bronzer: Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
- Eyelash Curler: Brillant Beauty Eyelash Curler
- Mascara: Lash Princess Curl and Volume Mascara
- Highlighter: MAC HYPER REAL Highlighter Palette
- Brush #1: Ducare Smudge Brush #161
- Brush #2: Ducare Blending Brush #132
- Brush #3: Ducare Eyebrow Brush #145
Base
I know not everyone has an eyeshadow base lying around, so I always recommend using concealer!
Grab your concealer and apply a little bit onto your eyes and spread with a small concealer brush. It should only take a second! This is the Ducare Smudge Brush #161.
Eyeshadow Curler
This is a super simple hack to getting a cut crease with minimal effort! Grab your eyeshadow curler and match it up to your eyelid. Play around with it for a minute to you can figure out where you can line the eyelash curler.
Grab your powder bronzer, preferably mate, and a fluffy brush. Bring the brush back and forth against your eyelid with the eyeshadow curler firmly placed against your eye. I am using the DUcare Blending Brush #132!
The most important thing to remember when you’re doing this is to ensure that your eyeshadow curler isn’t moving. Moving the curler around will mess up the eyeshadow look!
After about a minute of blending, you’ll notice how you’ve created a cut crease! Feel free to add as much or as little as you’d like.
I also wrote a blog post ALL about this hack too, here’s the link!
Curl Lashes + Mascara
Now it’s time to move on to lashes! For best results pump the eyeshadow curler 3-4 times, after remove the eyeshadow curler and repeat the process twice. I find this gives me the best, most long-lasting curl.
Then, apply mascara! My favorite mascara recently has been the Lash Princess Curl and Volume Mascara. It’s amazing, and high quality.
Shimmer
Now it’s onto the fun part! The shimmer! Grab your favorite highlighter, I am going to be using rose gold from the MAC HYPER REAL Highlighter Palette.
With either your finger or a flat-angled brush pick up the eyeshadow and place it right on the blank area all over your eye. Make sure to not touch the bronzed area, only cover the area where the concealer is.
Inner Corner And Tying It All Together
Finally, we’re onto the last step! Now, it’s time to give your inner corner a pop! Using a highlighter that is a different shade from the one you used for your lid apply it on your inner corner.
You can use your finger or a small eyeshadow brush, I’m using the DUcare Eyebrow Brush #145!
Almost done, now it’s time to really tie it all together! With whatever is left on the eyeshadow brush from the bronzer lightly sweep the brush under your eye stopping at the middle of the eye.
Now you know ALL about this super simple eyeshadow look for beginners. Feel free to play around with other colors too. Thank you so much for reading and subscribe to receive weekly beauty hacks from the Beginners Guide To Makeup!
