1. Skin Prep
Before applying any makeup, make sure to prep your skin! Prepping your skin is very important because it allows for your makeup to look better and your skin will feel better. Makeup will also stay longer, you can read more about skin prep here.
Here is what to do to prep your skin:
- Wash your face, make sure to wash your face thoroughly
- Moisturize and apply SPF
- Apply primer
Now that you’ve gotten your skin ready wait 2-3 minutes to let everything absorb into your skin.
2. Choosing a brush
Now it’s time to choose your brush! Grab one that is large and fluffy but also stiff. The one I recommend is the elf ultimate blending brush. Elf cosmetics are great because they’re cheap and work so well! The photo above is the one I use!
3. Apply Foundation With A Brush
Follow these steps to get a FLAWLESS finish using a makeup brush:
- Prep your skin, and apply primer!
- Then, grab your makeup brush and foundation, and apply a bit of the foundation on your brush or skin. Typically, foundation is applied on the forehead, chin, both cheeks, and nose.
- Start by buffing your brush all over your face, going in circular motions across your face till everything is blended. The reason why you should go in a circular motion is that it helps with avoiding streaks. Make sure to not use a sweeping motion.
- You can stop here, but I’ve found that since sometimes using a brush makes my makeup look streaky I go over it with a damp beauty blender and that gets rid of the streaky finish/splotches!
- You’re done! Now, you can continue with your makeup routine!
- When you’re done with all of your makeup, lock everything in with loose setting powder or setting spray.
