What is the NYX jumbo pencil?
Great question, perhaps you stumbled upon this blog post but have no idea what I’m talking about! The NYX Jumbo Pencil is an eye crayon that is designed to be a quick and easy form of eyeshadow. Most commonly applied on the inner corners of your eyes.
The most popular shade is white in either:
Milk: which is the white matte
Cottage Cheese: This is the shimmery white
My Thoughts
I’m the type of girl to wear kajal every day, so when I decided to try this out it was definitely the totally opposite look I normally go for! I purchased the white one, which is in the shade “milk”.
- It is very pigmented, I’d compare it to white chalk but with a smoother consistency!
- I found out that you can actually sharpen this, but you have to purchase the NYX Jumbo Pencil Sharpener it won’t work without it.
- I look A LOT more awake and my eyes look more open. I think it’s because of the fact that this is a white product.
- Smudges easily, wear setting spray!

After a failed first attempt I decided to try again, and it actually worked! You just have to play around with how you’ll apply it. Once you figure it out, you’ll be fine!

How To Use NYX Jumbo pencil
- As you saw in the video above, it’s a bit tricky to apply at first so here’s the best way to apply it!
- Apply some on the back of your hand and with an eyeshadow brush get some onto the brush and swirl it on your inner corners.
- Keep doing that till you get your desired result, you can also apply the product directly from the stick and blend with a brush. Try out both ways!
- That’s all!
Other notable things
A staple in my routine is applying setting spray. The reason why you want to apply setting spray is that your makeup will stay on your skin! I noticed people were saying that it was prone to smudging.
The way to avoid smudging is to #1 don’t touch your eyes and #2 USE setting spray! It’s such a useful product, that should definitely be added to your routine if it hasn’t already.

So, Is The NYX Jumbo pencil really worth it?
I’d say YES!
Honestly, it’s a great switch up from something like eyeliner and really does look good if you apply it correctly. I’d say there is definitely a flattering range of shades too, which is great! Overall, I’d rate it a 8/10.
